Lynn Wozniak took notes tonight. Thanks Lynn! Tonight we were very pleased to have Club President, Greg Blair in attendance after a long absence for medical reasons. Welcome back Greg. It was great to see you. Club Finances Bob Scheidt met with John Heveron a CPA who specializes in helping non-profit organizations with their taxes. John confirmed that our bylaws and money handling processes between the Club (a 501.c.4 organization) and the Foundation (a 501.c.3) are compliant with regulations. He did provide guidance on some more Do's and Don'ts to add to our processes to ensure that we would have no problems going forward. Other Business' Lynn Wozniak reported that the Club's 2025-2026 District Grant application was submitted on time and accepted as complete by the grant committee. The district received 33 aplications this year. Grant awards will be announced at the District Conference in May Information on the club's Student Service Awards (scholarships) have been sent and received by all three schools in Irondequoit. Applications are due by the end of April. The scholarship committee will review applications and pick the winners in early May. Kim Miranda made the club aware of the District's Environmental Action Committee's Spring Trash Olympics program. Their are cash prizes for clubs or other sponsored organizations (e.g. Interact clubs) that collect the most trash and a special prize for the most unusual and ugliest items collected. Competition rules and reporting instructions were provided. Club to decide if it wants to participate. Ray Holla was volunteered to put together a gift basket for the District Conference silent auction. |
