Meeting Notes
Lynn Wozniak took notes tonight. Thanks Lynn!

Tonight we were  very pleased to have Club President, Greg Blair in attendance after a long absence for medical reasons.  Welcome back Greg.  It was great to see you.

Club Finances
Bob Scheidt met with John Heveron a CPA who specializes in helping non-profit organizations with their taxes.  John confirmed that our bylaws and money handling processes between the Club (a 501.c.4 organization) and the Foundation (a 501.c.3) are compliant with regulations.  He did provide guidance on some more Do's and Don'ts to add to our processes to ensure that we would have no problems going forward.

Other Business'
Lynn Wozniak reported that the Club's 2025-2026 District Grant application was submitted on time and accepted as complete by the grant committee.  The district received 33 aplications this year.  Grant awards will be announced at the District Conference in May

Information on the club's Student Service Awards (scholarships) have been sent and received by all three schools in Irondequoit.  Applications are due by the end of April.  The scholarship committee will review applications and pick the winners in early May.

Kim Miranda made the club aware of the District's Environmental Action Committee's Spring Trash Olympics program.  Their are cash prizes for clubs or other sponsored organizations (e.g. Interact clubs) that collect the most trash and a special prize for the most unusual  and ugliest items collected.  Competition rules and reporting instructions were provided.  Club to decide if it wants to participate.

Ray Holla was volunteered to put together a gift basket for the District Conference silent auction.

Program Notes
Learn to Swim Program
Frankie Sampson and Nicole McCray from the Theta Omega Sigma (ToS) Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. returned to the Club this year to give a presentation on the learn to swim program they sponsor every year in Rochester. Last year they had 55 children and 7 adults participate in their program.  Their goal is to increase that number by 20 participants this year.  TOS is passionate about this program because drowning is the most common cause of death among children and many children growing up in cities never learn to swim.  The TOS program called "Swim 1922" provides the children with swim suits and swim caps in addition to swim instruction and water safety training.   The club once again presented Frankie and Nicole with a $500 check to buy swim caps for the program.
Contributions/Fines

Most of tonights contributions were given in appreciation for the TOS members for their presentation and swim program and for the return of Greg Blair.   Kenn Van Dieren gave 78 cents (38 cents x 2) in honor of the memory of deceased members Norb Rappl and Guy Kittleson.  Peter Mendick gave a special contribution in memory of his sister-in-law JoAnne Mendick.
