Guests tonight: Past District Governor Dave Hannan and District Governor Julie Carney. Great to see Kenn Van Dieren in attendance despite his recent hospital stay. Pasta Dinner: Bob Scheidt sent out a recent email to the club detailing Pasta Dinner financials. We set a record for net profit - all thanks to the club members who went above and beyond this year! Durand Lake Trail Project: Tom Kosanke says we are almost finished. Lou DiPrima will head up a group to finish the project this Saturday, Dec. 9 at 9am. PLEASE join Lou and help complete the last six panels. Shouldn’t take more than an hour or so, if 5-6 folks show up. Christmas Baskets Project/Party: Next week, December 13, we are meeting at Camp Eastman around 5:30 or so for the Christmas Baskets Project. We’ll be assembling from 5:30 till 6:30 or so, while we also enjoy Pizza and Holiday Fellowship. Then we deliver all the bags to the Irondequoit Community Cupboard, a project we’ve proudly been doing for years now. Shop With A Cop: we have a great opportunity to Shop with A Cop; next Saturday (12/16) that Louis DiPrima and Jessica are leading us in helping bring Christmas cheer to some very needy and deserving Irondequoit kids. Show up at 9:30am for 10am shift and/or 12:30 for 1PM shift; at Irondequoit Community Center and Target. Please email Louis DiPima your ability to participate next Saturday, the 16th. Dictionary Project: no deliveries are scheduled until the new year so we can wait on labels being applied until further notice. Rotary Foundation Banners: DG Julie Carney presented the club with two banners for our strong participation in funding Rotary Foundation. All thanks for our club participation, of course, goes to our very own Foundation Chair and whip-master Kenn Van Dieren (with a shout out to Lynn Wozniak who carefully tracks individual donations throughout the year). We had 100% of members donating and had well over $100 per member on average. We were one of only 5 clubs in 7120 to achieve these awards. Kenn Van Dieren reiterated his pledge to anyone donating $100 to Rotary Foundation before year-end, he will match with 100 points he has in the bank.
District Conference: the District Conference will be April 26-28, 2024 at the Saratoga Hilton in Saratoga Springs. DG Julie Carney invites and strongly encourages all members to attend this great annual event. |
