Meeting Notes
Membership discussion:

Proposed for Membership:  Lily Lynch & Deborah Renna-Hynes

Unfortunately, Jill Orologio has resigned from the club due to work commitments.  We will certainly miss Jill's enthusiasm at our meetings but hope to continue seeing her at Rotary events as in the past.

There was a discussion regarding budget items reviewed last week.  Lou DiPrima will check whether the Rotary Signs around Irondequoit need to be updated.  Some members thought they did but others recall that the signs were changed a few years ago to listing the club website for meeting details.  On another budget topic, the district grant money has not been received yet but iCare needs funds to start working on their website.  Membership agreed to send iCare half of the money that our club was covering now as opposed to waiting for the district money.

Annual dues are DUE!  Please remember to pay your dues of $175 as soon as possible.

This weekend is the Raise A Glass event.  See Dan Dwyer if you can volunteer.

August 4th is National Night Out at the Town Campus.  We will break the budget and buy more balloons and helium!

The Lighthouse area needs weeding and watering.  Dan Dwyer, Terri Bastuk, Ray Holla, and Lily Lynch signed up to be on the watering and weeding committee.  They will work out a schedule to keep the area beautiful.

There will be a Beer Auction in August.  Dan Dwyer needs volunteers to help sort out the beers and put them in packages next Tuesday, July 13th @ 6pm in Williamson.  See Dan if you can help.
Program Notes

Nik Smith, a 15 year old student at Aquinas Institute is working towards his Eagle Scout.  Our club donated $500 to help Nik update the gardens at Vineyard Church which supports the Irondequoit Community Cupboard (ICC).  Nik is very grateful as our donation was his primary source of funds.  Nik organized 18 volunteers and coordinated all the purchases and collection of tools needed to build 9 new raised garden beds and 2 new raised Herb beds.  The new gardens look great and the work was done all on one day in May.  The garden has a great impact on the community as it supplies ICC with much needed fresh vegetables.  After a few more smaller activities and paperwork, Nik is expecting to receive his Eagle Scout award by the end of the year.  The future looks bright with great leaders like Nik coming forward to help their communities.

Contributions/Fines
Many contributions for Nik Smith's Eagle Scout work, the 4th of July parade and celebration, and Judene & Bob Scheidt for the passing of Judene's Dad.  Bob Spatola's grandson Luca is creating Luca-isms every day with his stories and Bob also proud to have installed a wooden floor.  The DiPrima's will be visiting the Outer Banks and staying in a gigantic condo with 44 relatives!  Terri Bastuk had a nice trip to Syracuse.  Ray Holla missed everyone at the parade but enjoyed the 4th at Sodus.  Guy Kittelsen reported that Norb Rappl had a fall and was in the hospital - just happened so no other info at this time.  Lily Lynch has a new cat.  Jennie Gugino welcomed a new grandchild.  Jim Kozlowski's daughter received a promotion.  Dick Butler had a roundabout trip to a Scout Camp in the middle of nowhere to deliver boots.
