Business Meeting tonight. No Guests. New seating arrangement seemed to work great as was the new Rotary Table covering that the club purchased for tabling events.
Finance Report. Tom Kosanke is the new treasurer and has adopted much from Lynn Wozniak's tenure. Knows his way around a spreadsheet. No longer making hard copies. Please bring copies to business meetings as he will send out the budget with the meeting agenda. Also presented budget using TV monitor. Using same format as last year - keeping Administrative and Fundraising sections separate.
Fundraising:
For Reverse Drawdown, we may want to consider another fundraiser during the event but need to be careful how is is done. Can discuss as it approaches - perhaps a simple 50/50 may be best option.
Signature project has the amount we need so no more need to be added to that budget category. We received $4000 from District Grant for this year - this will also support signature project - bandshell or benches, etc.
“New Member Projects” now being called “Member Projects” so they are not limited to just new members. So any member can ask and be granted to do a project for $500.
Tom went through the very detailed line item budget and had good discussion on several items.
He added in a $50 per person annual donation for Polio Plus (this is new and is discretionary if we need the money elsewhere later).
Lynn Wozniak is taking over our Youth Committee which will include Interact and RYLA. She will look at re-energizing Interact Club at West Irondequoit. Continuing to budget for 2 students for RYLA. Added in Chesterton Academy (housed out of Christ The King) as a new High School so now 4 schools will be supported in our High School Scholarship Program. Lynn will be proposing a potential new project focused on enhancing our relations with each High School.
Administrative:
Nothing new. All based on 30 members. Following budget approach from last few years.
Overall, we are very healthy financially. Motion to approve budget was voted and approved.
Old Business
Lighthouse cleanup Thursday at 6pm. Planting and a mulching left to do.
For Irondequoit Garden Walks, Dan Dwyer is hosting Irondequoit Garden Walks at his house and our Club will display the garden at SeaBreeze Lighthouse. Dan's after-party starts at 4pm-ish on Sunday 7/19.
Brandon Barnhart's request for 13Thirty donation was approved by the Board and money sent.
New Business
We are all set for National Night Out on August 4th with balloons, helium, etc.
Camp Haccamo Cleanup. Ray Holla will take care of it. He will do it this weekend so no need for help at this time. Discussion ensued of what needs to be done within the Playhouse but settled that Ray will see if the flag pole needs work when he is there this weekend.
Schedule Review. (See agenda from President Steve). New Additions:
Sept 19 - Camp Haccamo’s 70th Anniversary Party (See Ray for tickets)
Nov. 8th - Pasta Dinner
District Convention in Rochester —June 5, 2027.
