Meeting Notes

Guests tonight:  Della, from Irondequoit Chamber and Deb Muratore.

Pasta Dinner Nov 2nd:  Pasta dinner ticket price approved, printing tickets and will distribute tickets as soon as available. “What are the sponsorships available?”  Sponsorships have always surpassed the ticket sales. Various sponsorship levels available for 2025: mostly the same as 2024. Silver, gold, friends of rotary.  New sponsor levels available: platinum. 1k sponsorship and ability to meet with club leadership for things like promotional opportunities.  Bob Scheidt to send out sponsor info via email this week.  See Pasta Dinner page HERE for more info.

Membership:  Lou DiPrima, Joey Pierleoni, and Prez Brandon all are following up with potential members.

New member project:  Joey Pierleoni said that town board has pushback and does not believe that voting machine demo will be possible. Community center needs security and fee for table so he is changing gears on project.  Deb (Rays guest speaker) may have a lead to help Joey, tbd.

Finance Update - received $5,000 check from Paris Kirwin for pasta dinner sponsorship. Lynn got first bill for district grant rec department: autism tent and zoo-mobile. Still waiting for volley and t-ball bill and is close to being able to give financial report.

Trunk or Treat events: 2 events town is having; it the 24th and also event for Boy Scouts, date is tbd. Possibly on that Saturday.

Miscellaneous:  Ray has potential speaker for sept 24th.  Friday and Saturday painting project.  Thursday the 18th, chamber of commerce mini golf tourney.  Ken - new person in charge of Rotary Foundation and November is Foundation month.  Joey mentioned that the rotary lodge could use some TLC if it is not still being planned to be demolished

Holiday Basket Party:  Lou: dec 10th is date for basket packing at lodge.

Veteran's Memorial Bench:  Bob Spatola: getting close to finalizing memorial bench, has a crew coming to get it.

 

Program Notes

Little Library Project:  Deb Muratore shared her story about how she was inspired for the little library project: she was gifted children’s books that she did not have anyone in her family to give, which inspired her to revitalize the little library and make those available to other children in her community.  420 Bayview is the location of the little library.
