Meeting Notes
Lynn Wozniak took notes tonight.  Thanks, Lynn!

Congratulations to Dan, Dave L., Joey, Lily, Steve, Brandon and Derrick for their spectacular performance in the 2025 Special Olympics Polar Plunge. They plunged into Lake Ontario Barnhart submerged up to his neck and lived to tell about it. They did us proud.

Antonio “Tony” Mormino was inducted as our newest member with Bob Kosinsky as his sponsor. Tony has been coming to meetings for months and has been a great addition to our meetings. We are glad to welcome him officially to the club.

Ray reported that the final 91 dictionaries were given out to the 3rd graders at Durand Intermediate school on Monday.  In all over 250 dictionaries were distributed this year.

Lily reported that she has been unable to make contact the social director at the Legacy so the Valentine’s Day party is in limbo.  She hopes to be able to at least hand out flowers and cards to all the residents.  She reports that the St. Patrick’s Day party at St. Ann’s is confirmed and will be held as planned on March 12, 2025.

Lynn reminded everyone that the Club will have a table at the Irondequoit Winter Fest on Saturday, Feb 8, 2025 at the town hall from 11am-3pm. Please stop by and lend a hand helping kids (and adults) make Valentines cards for patients in the nursing homes and hospitals.

Program Notes
 .
Irondequoit Chief Scott Peters was our guest speaker.  He provided an update on the happenings at the department including the acquisition of 2 K9 dogs (Ollie and Ranger) and a drone that can function in rain, snow and has night vision to help with searches.  More cameras and license plate readers are in place around the town to help with identifying stolen cars and apprehending perpetrators.  The IPD is celebrating its 100th year and is looking forward to continuing to improve the skill of its officers and ensuring that the department all the state of the art equipment it needs to serve the community.
Contributions/Fines
Happy dollars and conscious fines were dedicated to the police chief, the ice surfers for surviving the polar plunge, for the successful completion of the dictionary project and for our newest member, Tony.
