The Rotary District 7120 Annual Conference will be in Corning, NY during the first weekend in May (5/2/-5/4).  Brandon will be attending as incoming Club president.  Ray is overseeing the collection of items for the Club’s gift basket that will be part of the Conference’s silent auction.  Please get items (gift cards, Irondequoit items, etc.) to Ray before Easter.

HACCAMO Car Show

THe HACCAMO Car Show will be held June 7, 2025.  The club will be participating as a sponsor, but they also need volunteers to work that day and those with classy or vintage cars to register to show them.   Please contact Ray or check out the HACCAMO website for more information.

Guy Kittelsen

A memorial service for Guy will be held on Saturday May 10th at 11am at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 3736 St Paul Blvd, Rochester, NY followed immediately by a celebration of his life with food and drinks for all. (RSVPs are appreciated at https://invite.social/edit/otsmysh75em6t5sn)

Town’s Backyard Campus Project

Erin McGee, Commissioner of Public Works, and Superintendent of Highways for Irondequoit was the guest speaker along with Peter Weiner, Irondequoit Town Board Member.  They provided an update on the plans for the Town’s “Backyard” located on the land behind the Town Library on the Town Hall Campus.  Many features of the backyard are already completed including the expanded parking lot, and the building that is currently being used for the Farmers Market and other Town activities this past winter.  The sidewalk that will ring the backyard is also completed.  The new band shell and the playground are in the design stages and should be open by the summer of 2026.  (The Club is involved with this process and we will be putting our Signature Project funds towards the band shell (including naming rights), one of the playground features, benches, and some landscaping.)   The Town is asking the state for the money that has already been allocated in its budget for the project, and as soon as they get it, the work can commence.
