InterVol Communication Project Professor Michael Peres (RIT - Integrated Publishing Sciences) and RIT student Shectal Pandey are conducting a Communications project with InterVol. InterVol collects and repurposes Medical Equipment and supplies for shipment to more than 80 countries. The project is to promote a collection drive among the local Rochester community. There will be a collection at the InterVol office across the street from Bishop Kearney on two weekends near Thanksgiving (Nov 18/19 and Nov 25/26. Click HERE for a list of all accepted equipment and supplies. The major objectives of the project is to: (1) create new ways for donations, (2) raise awareness about InterVol, and (3) Foster a sense of giving in the local community. The drive goal is to collect 500 pounds of medical equipment and supplies. All medical equipment donated must be in good working condition. During the presentation, the club suggested that flyers for the drive be created and handed out at our Pasta Dinner. Our club will also add this flyer to our social media and website. There are also volunteer opportunities for Rotarians to work at InterVol to help collect, sort, and prepare materials for shipment. Great presentation for a great cause. Durand Lake Trail Project Tom Kosanke presented an update on the Durand Project. The project will work with Monroe County which identified a section of the Durand Lake Trail that could immediately use improved trail decking. Our club has purchased all the decking materials and will schedule work dates on: Saturday, Oct. 21 and Saturday, Oct. 29 at 9am to do the work.
