Bob Spatola set up a Meal Train to assist Norb while his wife Bernice is recovering at The Maplewood 100 Daniel Dr. Webster, NY 14580. Bernice took a bad fall about a month ago breaking several bones. After a lengthy hospital stay Bernice is now in rehab at Maplewood. Norb could use meals and help getting to some appointments as well as sometimes a grocery run. A call or two staying in touch with Norb would be appreciated along with your support for any of the dates listed on the calendar.

Below is the link:

Norb has no allergies and is ok with any meals but nothing too spicy.  Please deliver the meals between 4:30 and 5:30 pm on the day you have signed up.  Further instructions, including Norb's address are on the link.

Special thanks to Bob Spatola for setting this up.  If you have any questions, please contact Bob or President Tom.

Also special thanks to Kenn for volunteering to be Norb's driver.   As he said so eloquently...."Every General needs a Driver!".   Great job Kenn!

If you are aware of others, beyond Rotary, who would be interested in helping, please share the link.
Program Notes
Mary Jo & Joe Colligan from Angels of Mercy say they had a tough year with the pandemic but the emergency caused them to reinvent themselves and ended up helping more people than normal years.

Angels of Mercy is a Christ-centered organization (501c3) dedicated to helping women in need locally, across the nation and around the world. Their mission and focus is to help women and girls achieve freedom, dignity and restoration through their coordinated efforts and faith in God.

They have over 60 community partners that help them achieve their mission through projects such as Dress A Girl Around the World,  Butterfly Boutique (provides free clothing to women survivors that are attempting to re-enter the work force and need professional clothing),  and project to help prevent human trafficking & domestic violence.  Dress A Girl program has provided over 50,000 dresses last year and close to 800,000 over the years.  This helps with preventing sex trafficking in third world nations.  Much activity locally as well as around the world.   Upcoming Events:  Drive-Thru Chicken BBQ and Angels of Mercy 5K.  The Butterfly Boutique accepts donations of new and gently used clothing for women.  Women and girls underwear is always needed.  Soft-sided suitcases and toiletries are also needed.  Call 585-730-4556 for drop off times and location.  Angels of Mercy acts as a hub of volunteerism in the area providing a way for local residents and students help those in our own community and around the world.  Mary Jo has become a mentor to many students that are seeking to impact the world.  A Hofstra student is working on a documentary called "Voices of Inspiration" that will highlight the great work of this fantastic organization.
Contributions/Fines
Multiple contributions for the health of club members and family, and the great work of Mary Jo & Joe Colligan and everyone at Angels of Mercy.  Lou DiPrima is working to undo a fraudulent unemployment claim in his name - be wary as it is happening to many.  Jason Miller will sign up to bring Norb Rappl kale & tofu.  Norb Rappl thanks the VA and everyone in the club for their kindness and donated 33.3 cents for Kenn Van Dieren.
