Meeting Notes
Everyone was happy to see a smiling Dom Fantauzzo back from Florida accompanied by his daughter Jill.

59 tickets for the Reverse Drawdown Dinner have been handed out.  Please get your ticket returns and money to President Dave as soon as possible.  Dave especially needs a head count on the number of meals by next meeting.

VP Bob Scheidt reported that our club was awarded a District Simplified Grant for our Haccamo Playhouse proposal but we still don't know the dollar amount of the grant...

Scholarship Committee (Lee Steinfeldt, Jim Kozlowski, Lynn Wozniak) have chosen Scholarship Award winners for each high school.  Presentations at the schools will be May 28th at Bishop Kearney (President Dave) and Irondequoit (?), and  June 10th at Eastridge (Kenn Van Dieren).  Scholarship recipients and their parents will attend our meeting the 3rd week in June.

Program Notes
Past District Governor, Jeff Krans, updated our club on the importance of the Rotary International Endowment Fund.  It is part of the Rotary Foundation.  When you give to the endowment fund, the principal donation is never touched but the interest  revenue is used for generations of Rotary programs.   There are 6 areas of focus for Rotary Foundation spending:  Education, Water & Sanitation, Community Development, Disease Prevention, Mother & Child Health, and World Peace.  Any money given to Foundation is given back to the District (1/2 of donation comes back 3 years later).  Irondequoit Rotary has given around $72,000 over the years to the Rotary Foundation which started in 1917.  You can pledge money in your will for the Endowment fund so keep that in mind as a way to keep giving even after your passing.  Rotary strives to increase the value of your gift to the Endowment by preserving and investing your initial contribution and spending only a portion of the earnings.  This strategy supports Rotary's causes today while generating funds that will further the work of future Rotarians committed to Doing Good in the World.
