Business Meeting tonight,... BJ Cunningham provided flowers, cookies and craft items to decorate as a craft project to The Legacy at Cranberry Landing. This was in lieu of our annual Valentines Day Party there. She is working on something similar for St. Patrick's Day with St. Ann's. BJ also reported that all the dictionaries are ready to be dropped off at the schools on February 26th for the Literacy Project. See BJ or Kenn Van Dieren if you can help distribute the books to the 11 schools. Lee Steinfeldt is heading up Student Scholarship project. See Lee if interested in being on the committee. Our club is also interested in sending high school student(s) to Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) training which is all virtual this year. Dr Aaron Johnson will coordinate our club's effort in this pursuit. Applications are due April 15th. Membership: we have several potential new members - everyone should pursue increasing membership in our club. Our recent new members are all working on their initial project proposals. Budget: In good shape at the moment. Please remember to send Treasurer Kenn Van Dieren your fine money - he's on Venmo! ROC CITY UnCorked Auction was very successful for a first attempt at this new way to raise funds. Revenue goals were reached and all proceeds will go to Camp Haccamo and to the 6 Rotary clubs who sponsored the event. Thanks to all who supported this project! Camp Haccamo Playhouse Project: Lee Steinfeldt will work with Jill Orologio and Dave Shaheen on an interior project. Lee has a vision of a nature mural. Target is May for doing this work. BJ Cunningham has a bird house that is intended to go near the playhouse when we are ready. Other outside work deals with securing a plaque dedicating the house to Chris and Evie Franco and finding a permanent home for the Irondequoit stone plaque. Drawdown Dinner Fundraiser: Discussed making this event (1) virtual in the May timeframe using the Greater Giving website used by ROC CITY UnCorked Auction, or (2) Live at an outside venue in early/mid August. Rotary International is advising clubs to continue to meet virtually until the Rotary calendar year ends June 30th. We will follow this guidance but intend to return to Tasteful Connections as soon as it is practical. We need speakers! Please send ideas for programs to President Tom. Upcoming weeks are open so we will use some of that time for programs discussing the roles of club leadership (President, President- Elect, Treasurer, Secretary). In the past, we had a progression path with members assigned to these leadership roles leading up to becoming President. We would like to pursue this again as it spreads the work in a fair manner and gives members plenty of time to plan for their participation. District 7120 has a new website design...check it out HERE. |
