The Irondequoit Rotary 2022 Changeover Dinner was held June 28th at Sweet Briar Lodge where we experienced a "peaceful transition of power" from outgoing President Lynn Wozniak to incoming President Kim Miranda.

The evening started out with Mike Peace & his amazing band which was renamed the Kim Miranda Band!  Kim called up members in the audience to play in her band.

We thanked President Lynn Wozniak for guiding us through a very successful Rotary year with many accomplishments:  successful Pasta Dinner & Reverse Drawdown fundraisers, the creation of a new long-term strategic plan, and continued work for all the Irondequoit & worldwide charities that benefit from our support.  Lynn passed out pins in appreciation of all of us working so well this year.  We all had our moments where we "led the flock and rose to the front of the V".  Quack quack!

This year's Paul Harris presentation was made by Bob Scheidt.  Bob opened up the program remembering Major General Norb Rappl who chaired the Paul Harris Committee for many years.  In lieu of silence we dedicated our joyful time to Norb!  General Rappl always wore Hawaiian shirts while announcing the Paul Harris recipients so Bob brought a necklace from Hawaii to be worn by future announcers in Norb's honor.
This year's recipient of the Paul Harris Award was Dan Dwyer.  Congratulations to Dan who has been a vibrant member of our club taking leadership roles in many projects!

Incoming President Kim reviewed the new Rotary theme for 2022/23 called "Imagine Rotary" in which Rotary International President Jennifer Jones wants members to imagine the possibilities in the change they can make to transform the world!  President Kim ended with: "While we celebrate our rich history and thank those who came before us, I invite you to join me in imagining and bringing to life the rotary of tomorrow!".
